WONG SOON BOO
MRISM, Reg. QS, MRICS, BSC[Hons][QS][UK]
Managing Director
Wong Soon Boo (born 1968, Kuching) obtained his BSc in Quantity Surveying at University of Reading, UK in 1990. Upon graduating, he worked briefly for CS Toh & Sons (Hong Kong) for less than a year, followed by another QS consultancy Rawlinsons Partnership (Singapore) for 3.5 years where he worked on international projects in Singapore, Jakarta, Brunei.
Notable projects in Singapore/Jakarta (1991-1994):
He finally returned to Kuala Lumpur and joined a local consultancy Jurukos where he practised quantity surveying for another 3 years and after which he gained his Professional Qualifications. Notable projects (1994-1997):
Immediately after getting his professional qualification, a friend asked him to join Kumpulan Sepakat Konsult as a partner in 1997. This partnership lasted for 7 years until 2004. Notable projects (1997-2004):
After an acrimonious split, he then set up a new office Kumpulan Sepakat Konsult Sdn Bhd. However, due to legacy issues where both former partners felt entitled to ownership of the original company name, a compromised solution was finally reached. The creation of 2 companies with the same name, one was Kumpulan Sepakat Konsult Sdn Bhd (of which he held 99% and one another Kumpulan Sepakat Konsult (partnership of which he held 1%) which serves no other purpose but create confusion for the next 13 years. In retrospect, the partnership breakup was a blessing as he can finally enjoy the autonomy of running the business entirely on his own terms.
Out with the Old and In with the New In line with the recent Companies Act 2016 that allows an individual to be the single shareholder and single director to incorporate a company, he rebranded the company to be renamed Vescope Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Kumpulan Sepakat Konsult Sdn Bhd) in mid 2017. This was a golden opportunity to finally put to rest the tiresome confusion of 2 similar company names, a legacy of a past partnership which ended in 2004.
As the saying goes, Out with the Old and In with the New.
With this rebranding, we would like to take this opportunity to reinvent the company, to embrace change and look forward to an exciting future.
